Rustem Khamitov met with spiritual leaders of traditional religions

On November 24, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with spiritual leaders of traditional religions in Ufa Congress Hall. They discussed the issues of strengthening of interfaith cooperation, counteraction to religious extremism.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Central Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia, Sheikh-ul-Islam, Grand Mufti Talgat Tajuddin, Metropolitan of Ufa and Sterlitamak Nikon, Chief Rabbi of the Republic of Bashkortostan Dan Krichevsky, the Chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims RB, Mufti Nurmukhamet Nigmatulin, the Chairman of the Regional Spiritual Board of Muslims RB as part of the Russian Central Spiritual Board of Muslims, Mufti Mohammad Tajuddin, Nikolai, the Bishop of Salavat and Kumertau, Ambrose, the Bishop of Neftekamsk and Birsk.
The parties signed an agreement on social partnership between the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Central Muslim Spiritual Board of Russia, Bashkortostan Metropolia of Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Central Jewish Religious Communities RB, the Spiritual Board of Muslims RB. This document suggests further deepening of social partnership of state authorities, local government and traditional religions in strengthening spiritual and moral foundations of our society, development of education, culture, health, social service and charity, maintaining social and political stability, preventing and countering extremism based on religious belief.
