Employee of UMPO Aviation Technopark developed a 3D-printer project

 

UFA, 28 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/. An employee of UMPO Aviation Technopark designed a 3D-printer project. The design by Nail Yakupov, the head of engineering and technology sector of Aviation Technopark — research and production association established by JSC "Ufa Engine Industrial Association" (UMPO) and Ufa State Aviation Technical University (USATU) reached the final of the nationwide startups accelerator GenerationS.

As the press service of the company informs, the young scientist has developed a project of 3D-printer for wax models PolyWax.

"The idea of creating a 3D-printer for wax models was born while manufacturing process of casting tooling for aircraft engine parts produced at UMPO”, said Nail Yakupov. “This additive technology will allow reducing costs of existing molds by dozens of times and almost the same amount of time".

Semi-final competitions of young scientists in GenerationS were held in October in Togliatti. Only five of 11 participants overcame a rigorous selection and will compete for the title of superfinalist in November this year. The main corporate partner of Aerospace GenerationS is JSC "UEC" represented by JSC "R&D" Saturn "(the city of Rybinsk).
