Thus, early booking of New-Year tours in the country has fallen five times, according to today's issue of "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" referring to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.
The publication names the high rate of foreign currencies, the increase in current expenditures due to rising inflation as the main reasons for this decline in demand. The situation was also affected by withdrawal from the market of Transaero airline, which offered tickets at affordable prices.
Those risked the New Year trips usually choose Egypt, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates, according to the Association of Tour Operators. In Russia, trips to Moscow, Sochi, St. Petersburg and Kazan are also in demand. Rosturizm expects one hundred percent load of Sochi hotels for the New Year.
