Ufa entered top five rating of 100 largest Russian cities for life quality

Ufa entered the top five rating of 100 largest Russian cities for quality of life. Yesterday the integral rating of the top 100 largest cities in Russia in 2014 was disclosed at the 14th All-Russian Forum "Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia: Environment of Choice and Choice of Environment " in St. Petersburg.
"Ufa improved its rating position in comparison with 2013 year and went four positions up- from the eighth to the fourth place. The capital of Bashkortostan is ahead of such major cities as Sochi (5th place), Ekaterinburg (6th), Kazan (17th), Samara (21st), Omsk (44th), Chelyabinsk (45th). The three leaders include Surgut, Tyumen and Krasnodar", reported the press service of the city administration.
The rating was developed by the Institute of Spatial Planning "Urbanika" (St. Petersburg) jointly with the Union of Architects of Russia.
The study examines the most important aspects of life in a large city for an average citizen. Among the indicators of quality is housing provision per person, availability of modern formats of consumption, level of urban road traffic, level of crime, city lighting, external transport accessibility, level of urban accomplishment, degree of favourable natural conditions, level of environmental pollution.
