Bashkortostan is chosen to host the World Folkloriada 2020

Bashkortostan will be the capital of the World Folkloriada 2020, the republican Centre of Folk Art reports.
The decision to hold a global festival of folk art, dance and choral singing in the Republic of Bashkortostan was adopted by the World Assembly of CIOFF at UNESCO, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of UNESCO and the 45th anniversary of the CIOFF international organization. The event was held in the city of Arequipa (Peru).
The World Folkloriada is a part of the official activities of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Art. The festival is held every four years. The Folkloriada was first held in 1996 in the Netherlands. In 2012, Korea hosted it and representatives of different nationalities and cultures will meet in Mexico in 2016.
