Rustem Khamitov met with the Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanai

On October 7, a meeting of the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation Mehdi Sanai took place. The sides discussed prospects of cooperation in industrial, trade and economic, scientific and cultural spheres.
“It is very important for us that now we have points of contact in terms of business development. Of course, we would like to direct a large delegation of the Republic of Bashkortostan to Iran in order to conduct substantive negotiations on such cooperation. We observe now a reliable collaboration in the field of oil, petrochemical, oil refining. In addition, we consider the interaction of machine-building enterprises with Iran. I hope that this year we will be able to send such delegation”, said Rustem Khamitov.
“We have a great potential for cooperation in various areas, including education, working with higher education institutions, universities, as well as in the field of economy and industry. Bashkortostan has a very good economic potential, on which we have paid attention having decided to cooperate with your republic”, Mehdi Sanai said. “We hope that the negotiations with Bashneft Company will also be productive. And we will be able to improve the overall level of relations between the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
It should be noted that Iran in 2014 took the 80th place among the trade partners of Bashkortostan. The mutual trade turnover amounted to 281.9 thousand dollars. Among the products exported from the republic there are tools for drilling rocks and soils. The main import positions are organic chemical compounds (butylene) and drilling tools.
