UFA, 7 October 2015. /Bashinform News Agency,Elmira Sabirova/. This week Ufa will become a philosophical capital of Russia — from October 7 to 10, the Bashkir capital will host the seventh Russian Philosophical Congress "Philosophy. Tolerance. Globalization. East and West — a Dialogue of Worldviews".

According to the Rector of Bashkir State University Nikolay Morozkin the first six similar forums were held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don and Nizhny Novgorod.

"Despite the fact that this is a Russian Congress, it involves a lot of international delegates. 1517 philosophers from 16 countries and 71 Russian regions registered for the event. In Ufa, about 600 people will come", said Nikolay Morozkin.

According to the vice-president of the Russian Philosophical Society, PhD Alexander Chumakov, the first World Philosophy Congress was held in 1900. Today, these congresses are held in the world every five years. The delegation of the Russian Federation has always been actively engaged in them. The Soviet Union also had a tradition to hold philosophical forums — in Russia it was revived in 1997.

The Philosophical Congress opens on Wednesday, October 7, with a plenary session in the Congress Hall, breakout sessions will be held at different venues. All Ufa universities are involved in its holding.

The Ufa Congress will open. Organizers expect all those who are interested in philosophy at the roundtables and public lectures. Entrance is free.
