On Wednesday, October 7, on the eve of the Day of Bashkortostan Republic an exhibition devoted to jewelry and household items opens at the Museum "Ancient Ufa". All the exhibits were obtained during excavations at the monument of federal significance "Ancient City of Ufa-II" surprisingly rich on archaeological finds.
The exhibition "Ancient City of Ufa-II: Jewelry and Household Items" opens at 15.00 in the memorial house-museum of Mazhit Gafuri at 28, Gogol Street.
Involvement of the Ufa peninsula population and residents of Ufa-II settlement in the events of the Great Migration era affected the lifestyle of the inhabitants of the monument. The population of the settlement was actively involved in world trade controlling one of the branches of the Great Silk Road. Today, archaeologists find traces of this trade in the form of beads, various jewelry items, arrived at the Ufa peninsula from jewelry workshops of Asia Minor, Egypt, India, the Caucasus and the Black Sea cities. All this makes it possible to talk about the settlement as a major trading city centre of the early Middle Ages.
