International Day of Music is marked in Bashkortostan

Since 1975, on October 1, each year the International Day of Music is celebrated. The holiday was established on the initiative of the International Music Council of UNESCO's 15th General Assembly in Lausanne. The Great Russian composer Dmitry Shostakovich was one of the initiators of the establishment of the International Day of Music.
Today in the republic musical events dedicated to the professional holiday will be held. The Bashkir State Philharmonic Society traditionally opens a concert season of the Organ Hall. There will be a concert "In Every Melody — Voice of Russia", devoted to the work of the outstanding composer Georgy Sviridov, whose 100th anniversary is celebrated this year. Songs, ballads, instrumental and choral works of the composer will be featured at the concert.
The National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan will also present a concert devoted to Georgy Sviridov. In the city of Salavat in the Palace of Culture "Neftekhimik" the cantata "Snowing" on poems by Boris Pasternak, "Small Triptych for Orchestra", fragments of musical illustrations for the novel by Alexander Pushkin's" Snowstorm", a suite from the soundtrack to the film" Time, Forward!" will be performed.
The women's group of the choir of the Ufa State Academy of Arts named after Zagir Ismagilov takes part in the concert. The chief conductor of the orchestra Raushan Yakupov will be on the podium. The concert starts at 19.00.
