UFA, 22 September 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/.
More than 50 thousand inhabitants of Bashkiria will take part in the micro-census in Russia. Preparations for it are in full swing. This was reported by the head of the department of population statistics and health of Bashkortostan Statistics Agency Irina Utyasheva at a press conference in Bashinform News Agency on Tuesday, September 22.
She noted that the districts for micro-censuses are already selected and now the public is being informed about the upcoming event with the help of leaflets, posters and media.
The micro-censuses carried by the Russian Statistics Agency from October 1 to 31, 2015 are one of the steps in preparation for the national census round in 2020. Such micro-censuses were conducted in 1985 and 1994. The practice of intercensal household surveys to collect relevant information on socio-demographic issues is typical for many countries and conforms to the recommendations of the United Nations organization.
