"Maid of Orleans" will be the first premiere of the season at Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theatre

The Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera "The Maid of Orleans" will be the first premiere of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre in the new 78th season to be held on September 16 and 17. The audience attention will be focused on the heroic exploits of Joan of Arc. For the first time the opera based on the drama by Friedrich Schiller, was staged in Leipzig in 1831.
The conductor is the art director of the theatre, Honoured Artist of Russia, People's Artist of Bashkortostan, winner of the National Theatre Award "Golden Mask" - Valery Platonov. The director - Philippe Razenkov (Izhevsk), the theatre designer - the winner of the National Theatre Award "Golden Mask" Ernst Heidebrecht (Duisburg, Germany), costume designer — Tatyana Noginova (St. Petersburg).
The soloists of Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theatre and stars of Russian opera are engaged in the staging. This is the winner of the international competition, the mezzo-soprano Nadezhda Babintseva (Yekaterinburg), ( Joanna), and the winner of the national competition, soprano Zarina Abaeva (Agnes), Eduard Morozov (Lionel) and Vladimir Taysaev ( Bertrand), all three from the city of Perm.
In 2015 the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theatre received a nine-million grant of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan on creation of this production.
