On September 2, in Kazan the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the Acting President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a round table discussion on the increased use of domestic petrochemical products in capital construction. The participants discussed the issues of strengthening the cooperation of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan enterprises with a view to expand the range of products and markets.
“Unfortunately, we produce only bulk products and very little — I would say precious little — finished products, which can be used in real life”, said Rustem Khamitov. “This imbalance arose not yesterday or the day before, it appeared even during the Soviet era, although imbalances worsened due to the market economy.”
In an interview with reporters the Head of the Republic said that the cooperation should be closer between the regions.
Rustam Minnikhanov, in turn, noted that the joint achievements of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan can later be spread on all over Russia.
“We have just discussed that we need to work together to develop standards in the construction industry or in oil and gas industry, or in the construction of petrochemical enterprises — what is not actually available. Tatarstan separately develops standards, Bashkortostan does the same. If we work out a common standard for the two regions, we will introduce it into practice — that's a doubling of the markets immediately. And it will be a completely different scale of the standard,” the Head of Bashkortostan underlined.
Recall that from September 2 to 4, in Kazan the 12th Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum is held with participation of Bashkortostan delegation.
