According to VCIOM (The All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center), this year costs to prepare a child for school rose by 47% compared to 2014. Basing on the poll data now it is necessary to spend an average of 20 thousand rubles (last year 13.6 thousand rubles) for these purposes. According to sociologists, school costs never have been so high.
"The lion's share of spending, as before, accounts for the purchase of school uniforms, sportswear and second pair of shoes: this year this sum exceeded seven thousand rubles (7191), while in 2014 it amounted to 4709 rubles. Textbooks and notebooks are on the second place in the costs rating — this year they will cost an average of 3077 rubles (in 2014 – 1881 rubles). The top 3 of the most expensive items also includes a school bag/backpack (2855 rubles against 1940). The cheapest are flowers and gifts to teachers on the Day of Knowledge (1209 rubles against 776, respectively)", VCIOM informs.
