UFA, 28 August 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. The library of Bashkir State Pedagogical University named after M.Akmulla received a King-book as a gift. 34 volumes of the facsimile edition of the Illuminated Chronicle of the 16th century, written in half-running hand and translated into modern Russian, replenished the rare fund of the library. As recognized by the university, the gift cannot be overestimated — now readers will have access to a book that was created for the children of Ivan the Terrible.
The Chronicle is named Illuminated because it was illustrated with pictures. Illuminations that are in the text, allow seeing historic scenes and understanding much of the history and culture of the time.
The unique facsimile edition was transferred to Bashkir State Pedagogical University by JSC "Transneft-Ural". The book is published by the Charitable Foundation for the Promotion of Culture "Association of Ancient Literature" with the support of JSC "Transneft".
