Yuriy Chertok is elected Vice-President of the European Draughts Confederation


UFA, 3 August 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Dmitry Slezin/. In Tallinn (Estonia) at the General Assembly of the European Draughts Confederation uniting draughts federations from 27 countries of Europe, the election of leadership took place. Yuriy Chertok (Russia, Bashkortostan) was elected Vice-President. Janek Mäggi (Estonia) was re-elected the President for the third term.

The founder of the modern drafts school of Bashkortostan Yuriy Chertok was elected Vice-President of the Russian Draughts Federation in 2015 and became the first Russian at the post of Vice-President of the European Confederation.

It was also here where the Youth European International Draughts Championship was launched. The Russian team includes six players from Bashkortostan: Ishimbay grandmasters Agatha Parahina and Rufina Ayupova, Ufa players Daniel Ilyin, Tamerlan Ahmerov, Marcel Sharafutdinov and Kristina Osipova.

The Championship will finish on August 6.
