Next session of the SCO Council of Heads of States will be held in Tashkent

The next meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of States will be held in Tashkent in the first half of September 2016. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov in Ufa on Friday, July 10. The capital of Bashkortostan now hosts a joint session of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the extended format. It is attended by the leaders of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Five observer states (Mongolia, India, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan), and also Turkmenistan’s president, as a guest of the host country also take part in the enlarged session of the Council.
Among those invited are also representatives of international organisations - the UN, CIS, CSTO, CICA and ASEAN, as well as heads of the SCO Business Council and Interbank Association.
