Leaders of the BRICS countries approved Ufa Declaration

The Heads of States adopted a final document — Ufa Declaration at the BRICS Summit on July 9. It reflects the position of the association on the key issues of interaction. The Ufa Action Plan was also signed, which covered major tasks of the BRICS in 2016 and in the long-term. The strategy of BRICS economic partnership was approved.
In addition to these basic documents an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in culture, a memorandum on cooperation with the new Development Bank, a memorandum of understanding between the ministries of foreign affairs of the five states on establishing a joint BRICS website were signed in presence of leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
The Russian President Vladimir Putin noted in his final statement that the program of the Summit was "very intense and meaningful" that displayed "diversity and depth of interaction". The central events were meetings of the leaders in narrow and expanded formats, which "took place in a friendly and constructive atmosphere". The Russian leader stressed that the Ufa Summit was held in a 70-th anniversary of the end of World War II and the founding of the United Nations, and these "anniversaries remind the international community of the need for joint efforts to ensure peace, stability and security".
