Russian Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky will visit Bashkortostan museums

On July 8, in the framework of the cultural program of the SCO and BRICS Summits an official opening ceremony of the exhibition "Traditional Culture of Central Eurasia: the Heritage of the Silk Road" will be held in the National Museum of Bashkortostan. One of the first visitors will be the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky and Summit participants, the press service of the Ministry of Culture RB informs.
The exhibition includes more than 400 exhibits covering the cultures of Central Eurasia: national costumes, ornaments, utensils and household items. The exhibition describes features of ethnic and local cultures of Central Eurasia, formation and development of which was due to the appearance of the Great Silk Road.
On July 9, the Minister and participants of the SCO and BRICS Summits will start the exhibition "The Image of the East in the Russian Art of the First Half of the 20th Century" at the Bashkir State Art Museum named after M.V. Nesterov. The exhibition displays about 70 paintings and graphic works created in 1910-40-ies by the artists inspired by Central Asia. Visitors can see works by Iliya Mashkov, Aristarkh Lentulov, Alexander Volkov, Nikolay Karahan, Lev Kramarenko, Semen Chuikov and Irina Zhdanko.
