Session of the SCO Youth Council will take place in Bashkortostan on July 9-10

On July 9-10 the eighth session of the Youth Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be held in Bashkortostan in the framework of Russia's chairmanship of the SCO in 2014-2015. The delegates will be accommodated at the Krasnousolsk health resort. Total about 30 young politicians from Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will be participants of the forum.
The purpose of the Youth Council is to cooperate with young leaders of the SCO countries and to generate proposals to the governing bodies of their countries, relating to international cooperation, development of cultural exchange (festivals, exhibitions, establishment of awards and encouraging programs implementation, organization of youth camps and multilateral youth exchange programs), sports (tournaments and friendly matches, sport competitions) and education.
The initiative to create the SCO Youth Council belongs to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. This idea was announced by the Russian leader at a meeting of heads of the SCO member-states in Shanghai in June 2006.
