UFA, 1 July 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. On July 17, residents of Bashkortostan will have an extra day off in honour of one of the main Muslim holidays — Eid al-Fitr.
This year, a non-working holiday Eid al-Fitr falls on Friday. Accordingly, the working hours on Thursday, July 16 are reduced by one hour. Thus, days off at a five-day working week in the Republic of Bashkortostan are 17, 18 and 19 July in connection with the holiday.
As the press service of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection RB explains, on the basis of Article 120 of the Labour Code in providing basic annual or additional annual paid leave a public holiday of July 17 is not included in number of calendar days of leave.
Eid al-Fitr is one of the main days of the Islamic calendar, which marks the end of fasting, which lasts during the holy month of Ramadan. The tradition of its celebrating dates back to the times of the Prophet Muhammad, since 624.
