Rustem Khamitov met with the Minister of Agriculture RF Alexander Tkachev

UFA, 19 June 2015. /Bashinform News Agency/. On June 19 in St. Petersburg as part of the 19th International Economic Forum the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov had a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev. According to the press service of the Head of the Region, the course of implementation of large republican investment projects in the agricultural sector was discussed at the meeting.

Speaking about the main principles of rural areas modernization Rustem Khamitov marked a very low output of local agricultural producers — 700-800 thousand rubles per year per person.

"That is, we make it through quantity, not through skills. Technically, we take the first place in Russia in milk production, as well as in cattle stock, but it is generally by individual farms. Of course, we need a completely different approach to the organization of agriculture", the Head of the Region said. He stressed that now the program for agribusiness development was being formed.

"We need large complexes. First of all, we are focused on milk production with less orientation on red meat. Pork projects are on the way to completion — a large complex for 70 thousand tons. We are also engaged in poultry farming, like other regions. The situation with turkey production is quite good. Now the first stage of the complex for 30 thousand tons is built. The second stage is also planned. Generally, we have certain points of growth, but the rural areas are structured not enough optimally. Of course, we would like to form a larger program", Rustem Khamitov said.

The Agriculture Minister RF, in turn, noted that "there are high indexes in the republic. I always hold up your republic as an example at the level of the Ministry of Agriculture: how to do your work, how to achieve these volumes developing new technologies".
