International Children's Games

Bashkortostan juniors will travel to the Netherlands for participation in the International Children's Games. 27 athletes from the cities of Ufa and Tuymazy will compete for medals in volleyball, athletics, gymnastics, judo and swimming. They are accompanied by their coaches and chief executive, the Ministry of Youth and Sports RB informs.
The International Children's Games 2015 will take place in Alkmaar from June 24 to 30. The Games will be attended by about 1500 people.
The International Children's Games are held since 1968 with the support of the International Olympic Committee. Already 48 Summer and six Winter Games were carried out, which were attended by representatives from all over the world, total — more than 32 thousand children from 332 cities and 74 countries. The feature of the Games is that their participants are not national teams but the teams of cities.
The Ufa team for the first time took part in the International Children's Games in 2011, while they were held in Scotland. Then our young athletes won 11 different medals.
Recall that in 2013 the capital of Bashkortostan hosted the Winter International Children's Games. According to their results the Ufa count consisted of 16 medals, thus it took the first place in the overall standings.
Last year, in Australia Ufa athletes adequately presented their city and won nine medals in various sports.
