Cooperation agreement on "Europe - Western China" international transport route is signed

On June 18, at the 19th St. Petersburg Economic Forum an agreement on cooperation and information exchange in the framework of "Europe — Western China" international transport route in the territory of Russia was signed, the press service of the Head of Bashkortostan informs.
The document was signed by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, Acting President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Governor of the Orenburg region Yuri Berg, Managing Director of JSC "Federal Centre for Project Finance" Ilya Ponomarev and the "Russian Roads" state company CEO Sergey Kelbakh.
The agreement is signed for a period of three years and involves the exchange of information, practices and expertise in the implementation of public-private partnership in the road sector, as well as the establishment of long-term cooperation in preparation of investment projects as part of "Europe — Western China" transport corridor formation.
The total length of being built international transport route "Europe — Western China" is 8445 km. Of these, 2 233 km will pass through the territory of the Russian Federation, 2787 km — through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 3425 km — through the territory of the People's Republic of China.
Establishment of an international transport corridor involves a construction of the "Bavly — Kumertau" road, which then will join the federal highway "Ufa — Orenburg". The total length of the route over the territory of Bashkortostan will be 282 km. It is planned to build six interchanges with payment terminals at the intersection of existing roads. The projected traffic by 2030 within the road will be more than 17 thousand cars per day. The estimated travel speed will reach 150 km/h.
