UFA, 18 June 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. In St. Petersburg, in the framework of the International Economic Forum a meeting of the Board of the SCO Business Council was held. It was attended by the chairmen of the national sections of the SCO Business Council (heads of Chambers of Commerce) of China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and representatives of business circles of Turkey, Belarus, Pakistan. Bashkortostan was presented at the forum by the Minister RB Ruslan Mirsayapov, Vice President of the CCI RB Azat Fazlyev, the head of the coordination department with the SCO and BRICS countries of JSC "Regional Fund" Renat Manyapov.
Sergey Katyrin, the Chairman of the Russian Section of the SCO Business Council noted that "the SCO Summit in Ufa will be significant in several respects. It is the capital of Bashkortostan where the procedure of the organization enlargement will be started, therefore — expanding of the SCO Business Council. Besides the SCO's development strategy until 2025 will be adopted, a significant part of which will require active participation of the SCO Business Council members". Dmitry Mezentsev, Secretary-General of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation told about the agenda of Ufa Summits and drafts of the most important documents prepared for signing by leaders.
The Executive Director of the SCO Sergey Kanavsky noted the importance of political decisions planned for the Ufa Summits that would contribute to the expansion of cooperation in the development of transit potential and innovative projects support. According to the speaker, the formation of the SCO Energy Club will soon be completed.
The Minister RB Ruslan Mirsayapov introduced a new web portal of interregional cooperation of SCO member states, which started working in a test mode. The website was developed in Ufa, the NGO «Ufa-2015 SCO BRICS Office Group» reports.
The website offers information on investment projects in each region of SCO member states with contact details of investment agencies and chambers of commerce.
Azat Fazlyev spoke about existing opportunities for business development in the republic for potential investors, and also presented ambitious projects planned for implementation. The audience was interested in innovative technology of deep grain processing. The project envisages a construction of 12 plants for processing of wheat, rye, oats, barley, with total capacity of 360 thousand tons per year without usage of chemicals and water treatment facilities.
The work of the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg continues tomorrow. Two important events will be held: the business forum "SCO and the Eurasian Economic Union: New Realities, New Opportunities. Project Co-operation and Financial Arrangements" and Business Forum" Economic Cooperation of the BRICS Countries: Opportunities for Growth and Development".
