UFA, 5 June 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/. In Bashkortostan 218 ticks (5.8%) are infected with tick-borne encephalitis, last year the figure was 5%. 3751 bloodsuckers were examined. Borrelias were found in 250 ticks (14.9%), in 2014 — 12.7%.
According to the regional Directorate of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal Consumer Rights Protection and Human Health Control Service), 4247 people addressed for medical care with bites of ticks, 1369 of them were children. 33.8% of them received immunoglobulin preventive treatment, including 80.7% of children.
Currently, cases of tick-borne encephalitis and tick-borne borreliosis are not registered.
