UFA, 20 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency/. In a few weeks the capital of Bashkortostan for the first time will be a venue for the International Summits of the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) and the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), which have a huge impact on the economic, social and political development of the participating countries and the world. Preparations for these important activities have been conducted for several years. The Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov told the Interfax agency about the readiness of Ufa to host the Summits, the provision of their effectiveness and safety of participants.

"The SCO Development Strategy is planned to be adopted in Ufa. This is a serious bid for meaningful participation in the international political agenda. This is an initiative of the Russian Federation. It is about more efficient interaction of the SCO member-states in the next 10 years. This document is conceptual in nature, so special attention is paid to its preparation. A similar document will be submitted for consideration and at the Summit of the BRICS — Strategy of Economic Partnership until 2020, which would detail a roadmap of investment cooperation",Rustem Khamitov said.

The Head of the Republic outlined an interregional component in the format of region-to-region as the most important and most promising area of cooperation of the SCO and BRICS group. "In fact, the format «R2R» should be an integral part, the third point of support, along with bilateral relations and the cooperation of large-scale business, both of the development of the SCO and BRICS as a whole, and each country taken separately", the Head of the Republic thinks.

Speaking about the importance for Bashkortostan of Summits to be held in Ufa, Rustem Khamitov underlined that "first of all, this is a strategic project, the effect of which is measured in decades. In July, Ufa becomes a "landmark" of Russia, with several thousand visitors from countries which population is one-third of total world population. This is very responsible. But no less important these days to lay a foundation for further cooperation at the regional level, to establish a solid contact with the business community of the SCO and BRICS countries, present investment opportunities of our republic. Then we will have not one, and not five, but a few tens of "points of growth" — in various directions".
