UFA, 18 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/.
In the new academic year the Russian history in schools will be studied with textbooks written by the new historical and cultural standard. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation has approved text books of three publishing houses: "Prosveschenie" and "Drofa" from 6 to 9th grades and from 10 to 11th grades, the publishing house "Russkoye Slovo" from 6 to 9th grades. The textbook of the "Russkoye Slovo" for the 10th grade failed to pass examination, it has to be finalized, according to the website of Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
37 textbooks were removed from the list of existing due to their non-conformity with the new standard.
About one hundred independent experts checked the textbooks. Each of them had not relations with the publishing houses involved in the competition, in order to avoid conflicts of interest and compliance with the independent examination procedures.
"It's really good textbooks — new, modern, with electronic versions and a large number of reference materials. I hope that the quality of history education in schools will grow", Natalia Tretyak said.
