UFA, 12 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. On the day of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory the laying of wreaths and bouquets of flowers in memory of the fallen soldiers of the Soviet army, prisoners of concentration camps, people deported to work in Germany from the Soviet Union and other countries took place at the eastern cemetery of the city of Leipzig (Free State of Saxony, Germany).
The memorable event was attended by the Consul General of Russia Vyacheslav Logutov, city officials headed by Lord Mayor Burkhard Jung, representatives of the public of the city, the Russian Orthodox Church "St. Alexis" led by Archpriest Tomyuk, friends of Russia, Bashkir, Tatar and other ethnic diasporas.
After laying wreaths a festive gala dinner was given in honour of the Victory at the Consulate General. The war veterans were awarded medals; a concert with performance of songs of the war years was organized for them. In the garden of the Consulate General the Russian and German parties planted lilacs of Peace, the documentary filmmaker, journalist, native of Bashkortostan Nasur Yurushbaev told.
