UFA, 12 May 2015. /Bashinform News Agency, Arthur Basyrov/. Today, on May 12, a round-the-world traveler, Sergey Lukyanov, who set out to walk around the Earth for two years, will come to Ufa. His journey began in St. Petersburg on April 1.
According to the 59-year-old extreme sportsman, no one managed to do this for such a small period of time. In two years, he will need to overcome 32,000 km unaccompanied. The average speed should be — 50 — 60 km per day.
Sergey Lukyanov became interested in athletics in 1965, was engaged in race walking since 1969. During this time he became the champion of the USSR and Russia in 100 km and in daily, two-day walking races. He participated in numerous walks, including from Moscow to St. Petersburg, around Lake Ilmen, the Marmara Sea and Azov Sea.
At the moment, the traveler crossed 2100 km. A meeting with Sergey Lukyanov will be allegedly held at zero kilometre on Lenin Street at 15.00 in Ufa.
