For three months Bashkiria’s population decreased by 3.6 thousand inhabitants

The population of the republic in January-March fell by 3 572 people, according to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency. The natural migration loss recorded at the beginning of the year continued.
For three months in the region, 14,047 babies were born – by 2.9 percent less than in the same period in 2014. The number of deaths, in contrast, increased by 8.2 percent and amounted to 14 148 people. Thus, the natural decline was 101 people.
In general, in Russia natural growth in the first quarter was observed only in 28 subjects, including the two regions of the Volga Federal District — Tatarstan (plus 1,288 people) and the Udmurt Republic (plus 145). The natural population decline in Russia accelerated. In the first quarter of 2014 the number of Russians dropped from natural causes by 25.2 thousand people, in January-March of 2015 — by 52.4 thousand people.
The balance of migration in Bashkortostan also proved negative. 13,1 thousand people left the republic, and 9.7 thousand people moved here for permanent residence. Total migration loss was 3 471 people.
