Spring sowing started in Bashkiria

Bashkortostan farmers have begun the spring field works. Agricultural production co-operative "Rassvet" of Baimak region was the first in the republic to start harrowing perennial grasses. The first 50 hectares have already been processed there.
Taking into account the forecast of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring Agency, the beginning of the sowing season is expected in the third week of April. It is planned sowing of major crops on average for 21 days — until May 25. The current spring sowing will be held on the area of 246,000 hectares, which corresponds to the level of the last year.
According to the Centre of Agricultural Consulting RB, 299,000 tons of seeds are allocated for spring sowing, of which 37 thousand tons – are elite seeds. The reserve seed stock has 29 thousand tons of seeds, the intermediary stock has — 77 thousand tons of seeds of winter crops, 2214 tons of perennial seeds. These indicators are higher than those in 2014.
