In Bashkortostan there are more than 2.2 million female residents - Statistics

In Bashkortostan, according to statistics, there are more than 2.2 million female residents. Women constitute the majority of the population. As at 1 January 2014 2.2 million women lived in the republic, 53 percent of the total population. On the eve of International Women's Day Bashkortostan Statistics Agency reports the main statistical data.
On average, 1134 women are accounted for 1000 men, thus the ratio of men and women in different age categories also differs. Still more boys are born than girls (per 1,000 boys are accounted on average 950 girls). Sustainable predominance of the female population develops after 34 years. With increasing of age the preponderance of the female population increases too. By 70 years the number of women is 1.7 times greater than their male peers. According to estimate indicators, female life expectancy is 75.8 years, men — 63.7 years.
