Bashkir athletes will take part in the Winter Deaflympics 2015

From March 27 to April 5, the 18th Winter Deaflympics will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk. It is expected that the competition will be attended by about a thousand athletes from 30 countries.
Bashkortostan will be also presented at the Games as part of the Russian team. 12 athletes will compete for medals of the first in the history of Russian adaptive sports Deaflympics: nine hockey players and three representatives of skiing.
National ice hockey team is headed by Andrey Vasilevsky, Sr., another coach from Bashkortostan — Vyacheslav Shevin will help him.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports RB five sports are included in the Games program — ice hockey, skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, curling.
Organizers are the International Committee of Deaf Sports, Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District — Yugra, the Government of the Chelyabinsk region, Russian Deaf Sports Committee.
