On Friday, January 16, the new documentary film "Smoke is still curling above the roof" by Bashkortostan Studio will be shown on the federal TV channel "Russia 1" on the "Muslims" TV program at 08.55 local time.
The film was shot by director Vilyura Isyandavletova in 2014. Its main theme is the problem of futureless villages of Bashkortostan. The protagonist Kinzyagul Salimgareev remained faithful to his village, his native land, and for half a century lives alone in the abandoned village Revet of Beloretsk region.
This work will also represent Bashkortostan and Russia at the 8th Varesh International Film Festival, which will take place in Mazandaran, the northern province of Iran on January 19-22. The festival will feature prominent filmmakers of Iran and the Caspian region. The films will compete for awards in two categories — in national and international sections, the press secretary of "Bashkortostan" studio Zuhra Burakaeva informs.
The film "Smoke is still curling above the roof" has already managed to take part in the anniversary 10th International Festival of Muslim Cinema, 7th International festival "Northern Character" in Murmansk and won the prize "for the best documentary film role" at the 1st International Festival of National and Ethnic Films "Akbuzat" in Ufa.
