UFA, 2 December 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. The Soviet artist Jan Kryzhevsky returned to Russia. During this week he will arrive in Ufa — his native town, the press service of the President of Bashkortostan informs.
The artist lived for a long time in the United States. In recent years he was in distress, without documents and livelihoods. The daughter of the famous artist, native of Ufa Jan Kryzhevsky, wrote to the head of the republic Rustem Khamitov asking for help in returning his father to the homeland.
The Bashkortostan President addressed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov with a request for urgent execution of documents. They have been issued just for seven to ten days and the artist was able to set foot on his motherland once again.
The head of the republic said that it was planned to create good working conditions for the artist in Ufa. He will be shown several workshops where he can work. In addition, part of the artist's paintings, which are now scattered throughout the museums of the Russian Federation and foreign museums, will be returned back to their homeland. It is planned to organize a personal exhibition of Jan Kryzhevsky.
“It will be very good if a new stage of Jan Kryzhevsky creative life continue in his homeland, in Ufa. We will contribute to this,” Rustem Khamitov said.
