Sanctions as a chance to launch production of our own foods - the President of the Republic

UFA, 20 November 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. In Sterlibashevo village Rustem Khamitov held a meeting with the heads of rural settlements, members of the regional council, where the issues of socio-economic development of municipalities were discussed. Bashkortostan President urged to pay more attention to problems of health care, infant mortality, education, crime prevention and divorces.

“Over the last 3-4 years, we have practically solved the problem of kindergartens. We have just inspected a construction of a new kindergarten for 120 children under completion. With its commissioning the issue of kindergarten for children from 3 to 7 years will be brought to a close in the regional centre at least,” Rustem Khamitov said.

The head of the republic also noted that in the last two or three years things worked out well with supply of agricultural producers with equipment and machinery. Over the last three years about 12 thousand units of agricultural equipment were purchased in the republic.

The President RB also mentioned the issues related to sanctions that were widely discussed.

“It is a good chance for us to launch production of our own foods. Obviously, we will not have pineapples, tangerines, they will never grow here. But we must consider such foods as milk, meats, cheese, vegetables, fruit crops, horticultural crops. This is a niche market that should be ours and only ours”, Rustem Khamitov said.

Speaking of demography, Rustem Khamitov stressed that this was an integrated success rate in the society. In Sterlibashevo region the birthrate increased in comparison with 2013 year. But the population of this region is small — about 19.5 thousand people. Normal, civilized living conditions should be created to slow down the outflow of people to cities. Good roads should be built. Thus, urbanization processes should be regulated.

The detailed transcript of the report is available on the official website of the President RB.
