On November 13, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa in the Russian Federation Mandisi Mpahlua at the House of the Republic. The parties discussed prospects of localization of Bell dumpers production in Bashkortostan and other issues of mutual cooperation.
Rustem Khamitov marked that currently trade with the Republic of South Africa did not exceed 100 thousand dollars. However, Bashkortostan is interested in strengthening cooperation and the development of joint activities.
“We are ready to supply to South Africa such goods as parts of machinery production, buses, machines, construction site engines. We could send experts to work with you,” the head of the republic said.
Mandisi Mpahlua stated that South Africa was also interested in expanding areas of cooperation and attracting investors. According to the Ambassador, the republic may be interested in companies that supply equipment for the mining industry.
“At the moment, we consider a possibility to localize such equipment production in Bashkortostan. Bell Company of South Africa produces dumpers. This is a very strong company. We consider terms and conditions under which this company can work in Russia as a manufacturer. The Bell company has a very good reputation in South Africa, and we would like to support it here in Russia”, Mandisi Mpahlua said.
Rustem Khamitov expressed his confidence that this step will be the "first sign" in establishing business relations between Bashkortostan and South Africa.
