Government of Bashkortostan and the Chinese city of Chongqing have signed a cooperation agreement

Bashkortostan delegation headed by First Deputy Prime Minister Rustem Mardanov during his visit to China, visited the city of Chongqing.

As reported by the press service of the Government RB, the establishment of direct interregional relations is the development of the idea of the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov expressed by him at the BRICS Summit in the Brazilian city of Fortaleza in July 2014.

“I propose to create a new format of communication «R2R» — «region to region». This format will bring together not only big companies but also small and medium businesses. It will ensure establishment of clusters with entrepreneurs of the "five" BRICS and achieve synergy in the development of our economies. It is the form of communication which will be the third point of support, along with inter-state relations and cooperation with big business in the development of the BRICS as a whole, and each of our countries”, said then Rustem Khamitov in Fortaleza.

And now, after three months a presentation of investment and economic potential of the republic was held in the Chinese Chongqing. It was made by industry leaders, representatives of relevant ministries and departments.

Chongqing Vice Governor Liu Qiang welcomed the members of the delegation of Bashkortostan and wished them success in their work.

During the visit, talks were held in the B2B format. Following the negotiations eight memoranda were signed, as well as a number of cooperation agreements between the Government RB and the People's Government of Chongqing.
