None of Ufa hotels has a confirmed star-rating
UFA, 6 November 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Arthur Basyrov/.
In Ufa there are now 87 hotels, and none of them has a certified star-rating according to the classification adopted in the industry. This was discussed at the round table "Development of services and hotel complexes in anticipation of the SCO and BRICS Summits", which was held in Ufa on Thursday.
Tengri company is a single organization accredited by Russian Tourism Agency which has the right to be engaged in hotels classification in our republic. According to its director Alevtina Emelyanova, now those Ufa hotels, which have "stars" on their sign boards, provide consumers with misinformation.
“Currently the certification, which was held in some hotels, is not valid. By the standards, hotels have to prove their star-rating every two years", Alevtina Emelyanova explained. “And now we cannot say that we have three-, four- or five-star hotels in Ufa.
The classification of hotels is voluntary and paid service.
Commenting on the situation, the deputy of the State Assembly RB Mikhail Bugera said:
“Apparently, on the one hand, there is no need for certification among hoteliers, and on the other hand, customers do not care. It turns out that there is no interest on both sides. “
At the same time Ufa hotels built by international operators are ready for classification. Director of the Holiday Inn in Ufa Oksana Raevskaya marks:
“Confirmation of our star rating does not frighten us, because our operator standards are higher than the requirements stated in the hotel certification.”
Recall that in Ufa in 2015 a number of hotels of worldwide brands should open — such as Hilton, Sheraton and Holiday Inn.
