There are no preconditions for a sharp rise in vegetable prices in Bashkortostan - State Committee on Trade
UFA, 6 November 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Juliya Antipina/.
The situation in the market of agricultural products in Bashkortostan is stable — such conclusion was made by the State Committee of the Republic on Trade and Consumer Protection after monitoring the prices for the main groups of goods. The Committee does not see and does not predict preconditions for prices soaring, including potatoes and vegetables prices.
The analysis shows that the observed price increase was due to seasonal factors and was fully consistent with seasonal changes in prices of the previous years. Prices for cucumbers show increasing rates similar to last year's ones (by 46.14 percent compared to September), tomatoes (by 35.57 percent) and paprika (by 14.39 percent). According to the monitoring data, the current fresh cucumbers and tomatoes prices are now lower than they were last year.
Compared to the beginning of the year potatoes became cheaper by 10.5 percent and now stands at 18 to 25 rubles per kilogram. Issuing from previous years trends, the potatoes price could not rise by more than 20 percent to the end of the year.
To prevent price speculation a headquarters for prompt consideration of issues to ensure a balance of commodity markets and avoiding unjustified price increases for agricultural products, raw materials and food is set up at the Government of the Republic. It includes representatives of all interested public agencies, control and supervisory departments, representatives of business.
