UFA, 31 October 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. The capital of Bashkortostan climbed to the eighth place in the intergral rating of hundred largest cities of Russia formed by the Institute of Spatial Planning "Urbanika" following the results of 2013. Last year Ufa ranked ninth in the same rating, the city administration reports.
The top ten also included Nizhnevartovsk, Tyumen, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Belgorod. Moscow is located on the 25th place and St. Petersburg on the 20th. Chelyabinsk won the 39th position. Surgut became the leader of the rating.
Thus, Ufa stably retains high results in the Urbanika rating and is among the top ten cities, the leadership of which is determined by high standards of living and quality of the urban environment.
The integral rating of cities is composed for the fourth consecutive year. The purpose of the study is to determine the most favourable big city in the country on the ratio of "costs" and "quality" indicators. This allows evaluating the relative effectiveness of urban policy on enhancing the attractiveness of the city for its residents.
