UFA, 27 October 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Marina Chepikova/. Yesterday, the IV International Festival of Art Textile "Kurochka Ryaba-2014" closed in St. Petersburg. Traditionally, it was attended by masters from Bashkortostan, in particular, representatives of the folk club of arts and crafts "Nadezhda" (Ufa). Exposition of the best patchwork was placed inside a Bashkir felt yurt provided by "Agidel" company and placed in the Exhibition Centre of the Union of Artists. Journalists named the "Yurt" project from Bashkortostan a unique one: "Frame of the Bashkir yurt was turned into an unusual art object. It became an exhibition place for textile works by Bashkir artists and the epic "Ural-Batyr" was embodied in fantastic costumes from felt".
Karima Kaidalova, director of Ural gallery offers in connection with SCO and BRICS International Summits to be held in Ufa in summer 2015 to think about creating products that will represent traditional carpets and yurts, but in miniature, so that foreign guests could take them as souvenirs. In her opinion, it is now important to support and encourage artists in the field of art and crafts, to give them an opportunity to exhibit their works, to have something to surprise the Summits participants.
