Bashkir blind athletes won 27 medals at Spartakiads in Moscow

Yesterday the alumni of the boarding school for blind and visually impaired children were honoured in Ufa. They have just returned from the All-Russian Children Summer Spartakiads for Visually Impaired "Republic of Sport". This year twenty-six children departed to Moscow and brought twenty seven medals, ten of which were of the highest grade.
“The main thing in our sport is not to win but to participate, engaging children with disabilities in physical education and a healthy lifestyle. But, nevertheless, this time our guys competed very well. These athletes are the future of the Paralympic Movement of our republic”, the director of "Luch" sports rehabilitation centre for visually impaired, Gennady Dementyev said.
Young winners were sent to the Spartakiads by the Ministry of Education of Bashkortostan, and equipment and transportation were provided by the Ministry of Youth and Sports RB together with "Luch" sports and rehabilitation centre.
