October 14 - World Standards Day

On October 14 is the World Standards Day. The World Standards Day was established to commemorate the creation of the International Organization for Standardization on October 14, 1946. In Russia it is celebrated since 1970.
National and international standards are based on achievements of science and technology excellence. They play an important role in ensuring quality and safety of products and services. Application of standards confirms the products compliance with the binding technical regulations.
In Bashkortostan, standardization and its regulation support is supervised by the State Regional Centre of Standardization, Metrology and Testing. Here the most complete fund of regulatory documentation is formed, assessment of regulatory and technical standardization documents is carried out, forensic examination of food and industrial products is made. Besides, preparation of enterprises for introduction of management systems based on international standards is conducted.
