Ufa planetarium holds a festival of fantastic films


UFA, 7 October 2014. /Bashinform News Agency, Juliya Antipina/. Ufa city planetarium continues a celebratory program devoted to the 50th anniversary of its establishment.

The planetarium holds a retro festival of science fiction films. A retrospective is opened with a showing of a cult film by Jacob Protozanov "Aelita", which this year marks its 90th premiere anniversary.

The program includes several more pictures from the golden fund of the Soviet fantasy genre. This is, in particular, the "Space Race" — a film directed by Vasily Zhuravlev, filmed in 1935. Konstantin Tsiolkovsky was a co-writer and scientific adviser of the film.

The "Planet of Storms" — a Soviet picture of 1961 is a fantastic adaptation of the novel by Alexander Kazantsev.

Also the symbolic duology by Richard Viktorov "Moscow — Cassiopeia" and "Teens in the Universe"  will be shown.

On October 9, the Film Festival will be closed with "Through Hardship to the Stars" film shot by Richard Viktorov , script writer Kir Bulychev.
