Chinese Copper Corporation intends to establish ore mining waste treatment facilities in Bashkiria
On Thursday, August 28 at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Bashkortostan Republic, a meeting with a delegation from Jiangxi Copper Corporation of China headed by the Deputy Director Jianghao Liu took place.
The purpose of the visit of the Chinese delegation is to discuss the possibilities of cooperation with enterprises of the republic in the field of integrated waste management of ore mining industry and deep processing of copper.
According to the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology RB Ildar Hadyev, activities of Trans-Urals mining companies are one of the most environmentally stressed issues. Today, the republic has accumulated more than 1 billion tons of mining waste. Thus, an annual volume of their formation constitutes 30-40 million tons.
Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on exchange of information on the subject, the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources RB reported.
Jiangxi Copper Corporation is one of the biggest companies of mining products processing, which is included in the 500 largest enterprises in the world. Its turnover amounted to 32 billion dollars last year. Over the past five years, the company investment in environmental activities reached 250 thousand dollars.
