"Mayachny" Ltd, a part of the agricultural holding "Sigma" (Chelyabinsk region), will build a plant for sunflower oil production in Bashkortostan, "Interfax" reports referring to the director of the company Vladimir Emelin.
The project will cost about 2 billion rubles; all funds will be allocated by the holding.
The plant will be located in the city of Kumertau, near Mayachnoye village, on the area of 18.4 hectares. It is expected that 300 people will be engaged at the main production.
The launch of the oil-extracting factory is planned to be made in two stages. At the first stage (August 2014 — December 2015) the processing capacity will be 500 tons of sunflower seeds per day. At the second stage (early 2016 — December 2017) it will reach 1 thousand tons of sunflower seeds per day.
It is expected that the supply of raw materials for enterprises will be organized by producers of sunflower from Bashkortostan (30 percent) and the Orenburg region (70 percent). Regions of Russia and Bashkortostan are defined as potential markets.
Holding company "Sigma" produces and sells vegetable oils and products of sunflower seeds in the territory of Russia, CIS and far abroad. The holding company includes oil-extracting factory OJSC "Chishminsky", plant for refining and deodorization of vegetable oils "Sigma" (Kopeisk, Chelyabinsk region), Surgut feed mill (Samara region), "Management Company Sigma Holding" LLC and pizza chain "Pizzamania" (Chelyabinsk, Kopeisk).
