A month ago, we filed a bid for hosting in Ufa the World Games 2021. Our bid was supported by the Government of the Russian Federation, the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the Minister of Sport Vitaly Mutko. If we win this contest, we will build about five or six new sports facilities. Among them there is a multi-purpose gym, gymnastics centre, centre of combat sports, athletics arena. That is, we will enlarge greatly our sporting facilities. We have good chances of winning. We hope that we will be able to host the World Games in Ufa. But regardless of this, we want to work with you. And we dream of hosting the Summer International Children's Games in Ufa. We know that in this part there is a lot of competition. Nevertheless, in the long-term we would like to express such a desire. If we receive the right to host the Summer International Children's Games in Ufa, then, of course, we will cope with this task.”
“In Lausanne we discussed a possibility of holding the Summer Children's Games. To express our interest in the Games, to express our confidence in their good organization, I brought a letter from the President of the International Children's Games”, Richard Smith said. “It contains a request to consider a possibility to host the Summer International Children's Games in Ufa in 2019, and also a request to provide your support.”
“The Summer Games are much more large-scale event compared to the Winter Games”, Rustem Khamitov said. “Of course, it is very important proposal for us. Thank you that you consider us as partners. Today, we have all structures that can be engaged in organization of these Games. The organizing committee continues to operate, there are competent people. We could quickly get into this job. All this fits into the program of construction and future use of new sports facilities. We could spend large scale, interesting, well-organized Games.”
Total there are 80 sports disciplines in the Summer Games, approximately 1800-2000 participants from 80-100 countries.
“There are a lot of candidate cities to host the Summer Games”, Richard Smith said. “Ufa has an advantage of superbly holding the Winter Games. The city has a good experience, and we hope that Ufa will succeed. The decision to hold the Summer Games in Ufa or not, will be made in the Netherlands in the summer of 2015.”
