In Bashkortostan, in the Year of Culture the International Film Festival will be held for the first time. As the press service of Bashkortostan Film Studio informs, on November 27-29, the International Ethnic Film Festival "Akbuzat" will be held in Ufa. The project is funded by a 10-million presidential grant.
The festival will be held in three areas: feature-length films, short-length films, documentaries. The jury will judge films in different categories — best screenplay, director, operator awards. There are also special prizes of the jury.
Fans of the festival films will be free to attend screenings, to vote for their favourite films and to define the winner in the nomination "Audience Award". The Union of Cinematographers of Bashkortostan established its special prizes too – these are the prize for National Spirit which named after Bashkir director, founder of cinematography in the republic Amir Abdrazakov and the prize named after a famous operator Gilvan Amirov for the Best Cinematography.
The Grand Prix for the Best Film is statuette "Silver Akbuzat".
Recently the official website of the festival will be opened, which will highlight preparations and staging of the event.
The festival organizers hope that the International Film Festival "Akbuzat" will make a significant impact on developing Bashkir cinema, attracting investment, creating joint film projects and going on wide release.
The Festival founders are the Ministry of Culture RB, the administration of Ufa and Bashkortostan Film Studio.
