Industrial production in the first half of Bashkiria has grown by 1.9 percent
The industrial production index (IIP) in the republic in January-June amounted to 101.9 percent for the first half of 2013, higher than the nationwide figure by 0.4 percentage points (101.5 percent).
In the Volga Federal District industrial production index ranges from 93.6 percent in the Ulyanovsk region to 115.8 percent in Mordovia.
Bashkortostan Statistics Agency noted a positive trend in the chemical industry (112.4 percent compared to January-June 2013), in manufacture of electrical equipment (9 percent), wood processing (8.1 percent), manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products and foodstuffs (4-5 percent), in production of petroleum products, machinery and equipment, gas and water (0.2).
Production of rubber and plastic products decreased by 36.3 percent, compared to the first half of 2013. A decrease was also marked in pulp and paper production, publishing and printing (31.8 percent), iron and steel (8.7 percent), textile and clothing production (6.7 percent) as well as in production of leather, leather goods and footwear (4.8 percent), transport (0.4 percent).
